FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Power requirements
What power supply is required?
PingLive Mini requires 10–18 VDC input (typical 12W, max 25W).
PingLive Sonar requires 10–18 VDC input (typical 22W, max 40W).
Ensure a stable power source before setup.
⚠️ Please do NOT connect M18 tool batteries (Milwaukee M18 or similar 18V packs)... Fully charged M18 (18V) batteries can reach ~20V, which exceeds safe limits and may damage the transducer.
What is the power consumption?
Power consumption varies depending on range settings and conditions.
PingLive Mini: approximately 12–25W on average.
PingLive: approximately 22–40W on average.
Product compatibility & setup
What are the available connection options?
Wireless — Uses the Accuphy WiFi Router for a cable-free experience.
What devices are compatible with PingLive and PingLive Mini Sonar?
All units work with Apple and Android devices.
For full compatible models, use the compatibility table.
What does the green or yellow light on the router mean?
Yellow = Power on.
Green (blinking) = Data transmitting.
No light = No data or power issue.
Green starts blinking ~45–60 seconds after startup when Wi-Fi is ready.
Installation
What tools do I need to install my PingLive?
Everything already comes with you PingLive Package! Including hardware, mounts, and the Wi-Fi router are included in pre-sorted bags.
Can I mount the transducer on different sides of the vessel?
Yes — mount on port or starboard using Barrel, Shaft, or Panoramic mounts, with instructions for each setup.
How do I know which mounting option to use?
Barrel for limited space, Shaft for a clean profile, and Panoramic (shaft + angled arm) for shallow water (3–15 ft) and straight-on viewing. Mounts are modular/interchangeable.
How do I correctly align the transducer for accurate readings?
Align the notch with the correct mounting point and ensure the letter and arrow face upward. Tighten the knob to secure. Fine-tune angle/depth in the app if needed.
What size shafts are compatible with the transducer mounts?
PingLive and PingLive Mini support shafts up to 28.6 mm. Use included rubber liners for smaller shafts; larger shafts don’t require liners.
How do I manage excess transducer cable?
Secure cables with electrical tape (not tight zip ties). Keep a ~25 cm service loop near joints and avoid propellers, pinch points, and interference sources.
How do I adjust the angle of the transducer?
Loosen the knob, rotate to the desired angle, then tighten. Barrel/Shaft adjust in 22.5° steps; Panoramic adjusts in 11.25°.
Troubleshooting
My sonar isn’t showing the selected views—what should I check first?
Check connections, confirm you’re on the correct network/IP, restart the system, update the app/firmware, and verify battery power (10–18V, 6A min). If it persists, contact Accuphy Support.
Performance & features
What is the range of the wireless connection?
The theoretical range of the Wi-Fi router is 70-80 ft.
Can I adjust the sonar frequency for different water depths?
Yes — fine-tune frequency settings in the app to optimize performance in shallow or deep water.
Can I use multiple screens with one PingLive Sonar?
Not at this time (Coming Feb. 2026). Single display connection per unit is currently supported. Multi-screen support is in development for a future update.
